It was great to give Stylin listeners access to the Dave Sinclair archives once again. A super serious collector of modern soul of the 70s and 80s varieties, Dave also has fine taste and pieces in latin, funk, jazz, hip hop, drum and bass, house, dubstep etc. For this visit though, it was definitely on a soul tip, from boogie to gospel to funky soul to some smooth 80s sounds.

Meanwhile I got my techno on again with new cuts from Redshape, Taho and Hird (tech-ish). It definitely feels like a strong time for techno at the moment. I must also point your ears in the direction of the compilation 'Super Cool: California Soul 2' from Luv n Haight which is filled with rare soulful goodies from the 66-82 period. Otherwise, it was the usual mixed-up Stylin trip, passing through hip hop, boogie, lounge, downtempo, bossa and broken beats.

Stylin broadcasts live each Friday on Australia's best known community station, 3RRR-FM Melbourne.
