This week's recommended albums come from the increasingly jazzy Nostalgia 77 Octet with 'Borderlands', the similar-but-different Radio Citizen with 'Berlin Serengeti' (which I think I forgot to back-announce on the show), Yolanda Johnson with the 8-track soul EP 'Violet Flower' and Detroit techno don Carl Craig whose 'From the Vault' collection for Japan includes many of his 90s classics but also a previously unreleased gem called 'Hush'. On the compilations front, 'Timeless Interpretations' on Dopeness Galore brings a lineup of top remixers like Domu, John Arnold, Alex Attias, Kev Brown and the Politik (Mark de Clive-Lowe and Bembe Segue) to the catalogue of Dutch jazz label Timeless. We also heard cuts previewing forthcoming albums from Canadian band Sekoya (featuring Amalia on vocals) and UK rhymer Ty (great cover art!).
